Linux Mute on Alsa working?

On an arm Freescale imx6, mute is not working with the alsa sink.
There is nothing specific to the platform, though, and apparently the "mute" on alsa is handled by XBMC self.

Could anyone on Linux + Alsa confirm/infirm mute is workig?

Do you have the latest source? I believe https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/4295 fixed the issue you are talking about. If you have a non-SSE enabled build and your sink didn't control volume anyway. I believe that is the case you are talking about.
