xbmc sometime crashes on channelswitch
#1
Hi

i'm using openelec(nightly) on Intel Nuc core i3 haswell with DVBSky S960 dvb-s2-tuner.

Sometimes when i switch the channel in xbmc, it crashes and restarts

I've had these crashes on stable version of tvh and htsp pvr addon so i updated both but crashes are still there. currently i'm using the new pvr.tvh addon with tvheaded v3.9.383 for testing. But as i said... crashed are also there with stable version of tvh

syslog: http://pastebin.com/564ZAAsW xbmc crash at line 1120
xbmc.old.log: http://pastebin.com/zZyLZRkd i've deleted some epg spam

can anyone tell me what is causing the crash? after reading those logs i don't really have a clue since i can't see any errors

If i use vdr as tv software, it's working fine, no crashed at all. But i want to use Tvheadend Sad

Do you have the crash log? It's generated in your home folder.

I'm seeing the same. Running OpenELEC 4.0 beta 1 and XBMC+TVheadend (3.4.27) on an Intel Haswell i3 NUC. I've got currently a single PCTV 290e tuner. Sometimes when changing channels (especially it would seem to me that changing SD->HD or HD->SD channel) XBMC crashes and restarts. TVheadend keeps running ok. I'll try to get this happen when I have debugging on and post logs...

The crashlogs are generated in the home folder.

Ok, this is the way I can reproduce it. Disable live tv. Remove tvheadend service. Remove the Tvheadend folder in .xbmc/userdata/addon_data. Install Tvheadend 3.4.27 again. Configure Tvheadend and tune some channels. Enable live tv in XBMC.

Now, whenever I change into a HD channel for the first time, XBMC will restart. After the restart it will work ok. This happens for each HD channel once. Works fine after that.

Log when changing the channel to Yle TV2 HD for the first time. XBMC restarted.

Tvheadend is unaffected of this. I can't see any crashlogs in /storage (I'm running OpenELEC 3.95.1) though?

Only way to be sure it's not an Openelec/VAAPI issue is to test the tvheadend addon and XBMC on another computer.

I also get the issue described where tuning to each HD channel for the first time will crash XBMC as described by trsqr.

To add more details, it only happens to me when selecting VDPAU (or DXVA in Windows) to de-interlace and scale. If I choose the non-VDPAU/DXVA options the channels do not crash.

This has happened to me with German HD (720p) channels and British HD (1080i) channels on satellite, in both Ubuntu and Windows running the latest Gotham builds.

Hi,

I am seeing the same problem for several months:

- Intel Haswell i3-4330T
- self-compiled xbmc from current FernetMenta/xbmc/master branch using yadif
- tvheadend/master snapshot fd24558503967375d0b9058ac2a4c594de971cd2 dating Jun 8th, 2014
- libva 1.3.1 + libva-intel-driver 1.3.2pre1
- mesa3d 10.2.1

How can I help, gdb backtrace?

EDIT: Currently my xbmc addon to connect to tvheadend is pvr.hts from
https://github.com/opdenkamp/xbmc-pvr-ad...ter/addons

Now I read that Adam Sutton is developing his own xbmc addon, I will try
it and report back here.
Kodi 19.5-Matrix/OpenGLES/gbm (+ PR19558 ) - Linux kernel 5.14.21 x86_64 - ffmpeg 4.4-git (+ patch )
Mesa 22.3.7 with iris driver - VA-API version 1.16.0 + Intel iHD driver version 22.6.3 - libdrm 2.4.116 - libcec 6.0.2
Intel i9-11900T - ASRock Z590 Extreme - BIOS version 2.20
