FYI, the MediaBrowser3 Android app just updated with Chromecast support. It seems to work extremely well, with automatic transcoding for files that need it. I believe the app is $4.50 (or something like that), but it has a very polished UI and it's packed with features. This seems to be the best solution for playing media on a Chromecast, at least in my opinion. MB3 and XBMC also work nicely side-by-side. Worth a look if you own a Chromecast and you want to send your media to it.
