Can't see more than 99 files
#1
Hi, Im using 12.3 Frodo version in a win7 pc. If I have more than 99 files in a shared folder in a OSX Mavericks notebook, the Video->Files option doesn't shows anything. If I only put 99 files in the folder it's ok.

No matter the naming schema, it happens wherever the 99 files I put there.

If the folder is a local hard drive it doesn't happens.

I tried reinstalling xbmc as a fresh reinstall(deleting app data as the manual says), upgraded to the last Frodo version, but nothing changes.

anybody have an idea?

thanks

Can you see (and access) all the (more than 99) files from Window Explorer on your Windows 7 system. A lot of people have been complaining that since upgrading from Mountain Lion to Mavericks they are having problems with sharing data over SMB to Windows system,

http://www.zdnet.com/mavericks-smb2-prob...000022519/

APPLE decided to implement the SMB2 protocol in Marvericks and it looks as if this may possibly be the source of your problem. You could try forcing Mavericks to use the original SMB protocol instead to see if this fixes the problem. See the link above for how to do this.

Please let us know if this works.

Hi, thanks for the quick answer. I forgot to mention that I already did the fix to force smb1 at the mac, but reading more deeply, I understand that the fix applies only for the smb client of the mac osx, all the articles mention problems to connect from the mac to a NAS or a fileserver.
Look that the fix creates the file at ~/Library/Preferences, into the user's library, it's at not at /Library/Preferences level at the mac.

I just upgraded the xbmc to 13.0 Beta 1 and it's also happening the same.

I also shared a folder at another win7 machine with 120 files and it works ok, so OSX Mavericks and it's new SMB has the fault... Sad

Thanks for the reply. If you want to make more tests, please let me know.

Bye
