Openelec RPi v3.95.1 bug thread?
#1
Forgive me for my ignorance, is there a specific thread for the bug in Openelec V3.95.1?

Where should I report them?

There isn't a dedicated one for the Pi, so here would be fine.

I've come across one bug so far and it only happens on one of my TV's ( a Panasonic)

When it urn the TV off and back on again, HDMI-CEC doesn't work.. I have to reboot the Pi to get it to kick back in.

I'll grab the logs when i get home tonight to see what's happening but has anyone else come across this?

I have the exact opposite with a Panasonic TV too.
If I reboot pi I have to reboot TV too after for some keys to work again.
But I think it was happening in frodo too. (openelec 3.2.4).

Moved from thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1648572

I have just installed the latest version of OpenElec with Gotham beta 1 and am having massive problems with movies pausing / stuttering. While this use to happen occasionally with XBMC 12.2 it was nowhere near as bad as with Gotham. I have DTS passthrough enabled, which from reading many posts on the subject seems to be the issue. Is there a fix for this yet? I have posted snippets of the log below from when the pause occur..

Can you report CEC issues here:
https://github.com/Pulse-Eight/libcec/issues

make sure you include a log with debug enabled.

Can you try the Milhouse build from the other thread. That does have a patch not in beta that can improve buffering behaviour.

I've solved this for LG
Use a timer to turn off XBMC and have no more problems with CEC (simple link LG).
I use power from USB of LG,for reboot just disable usb power on TV then enable afther you shootdown PI with timer.
This works well on LG on Panasonic I dont know You must tray ¿¿¿

Will do ... do you think this is a buffering issue? Have tried setting the buffermode parameter in advancedsettings.xml file to 1 so all streams are cached but it did not help. Not sure if this is the same thing or not.

Also, the fanart grabber script is doing stuff while you are getting buffering. Can you try disabling/uninstalling?

Clean install in another formatted SD card: v3.95.1

Personal set-up:
Network Wi-Fi
Service SSH
Apparence > International > UK (24), Timezone
Music > Playback > Visualisation: None
System > Video output: 1680 x 1050
System > Audio output > Number of channels: 5.0
Input device > Peripherals > CEC Device to power on: AVR, Device to power off: AVR, When the TV is switched off: Ignore

When I boot, no system sound
I tried the 3 players to play flac 2CH file: no sound
Came to change screen resolution, as soon I click on YES I got the system sound.
Moreover this time I had a bug you though to be fixed:
Very fast flickers between YES and NO. I had to click my remote different buttons to stop after a while. The same started again between 3 screen keys (Menu SYSTEM, system, shut down) and I had the click long time to stop it.
Let me know what you want for more info

Thanks for you devotion.

Hi popcornmix

As suggested I tried the latest Milhouse build to stop the film pauses with DTS passthrough enabled and it did not work, still had long pauses every 30 seconds or so. I also disabled the fanart add-on and increased the gpu memory from 128 to 256 but with no success.

I have uploaded a copy of the logs here - http://pastebin.com/aG4jEJq8

A couple of things I have noticed, not sure if they will help:-

I have recently upgraded my amplifier. On my old amp is only supported 1080i and I didn't have the pauses. My mew amp supports 1080p and the pauses are very bad. Is there a way of forcing XBMC to 1080i so I can test this out on the new amp?

I also tried experimenting with different frame rates - set at 24, 30 and 50 the pauses happened but it seemed to get further into the film before they started. Withe the frame rate at 60 they started almost immediately.
