Buffering issues with cable, works with WiFi
#1
I have searched but have not found any good help regarding my problem.

I have a Mac Mini running XBMC 12.3. It is connected to the network via WiFi (5Ghz 802.11n, 300Mbit according to OS X) XBMC is streaming from a NAS. XBMC uses the built in function to connect to the NAS via Samba.

My problem is that when I use cable movies and TV-shows buffers but not when I use WiFi. When using cable I have no packet loss and very low respons time. When using WiFi i get alot of packet loss and high respons time.
The cables i have tried works just fine to the bedroom where a Raspberry Pi running 12.2 with no buffering issues at all and all cables tested is CAT5.

At first i thought the problem was a low budget switch but i have tried a cable directly (different ports) into my router (Airport Extreme) but it still doesnt work. The TV streams Netflix at 1080p ("SuperHD") with no problems at all.

The problem is only on the Mac Mini.

Anyone have any ideas?

EDIT: I want to use cable because the high respons time and packet loss makes remote to the computer a pain in the ***.
