edit: tvshow - 099 - title

How do I label the next one for xbmc to recognize?

You mention episodes but then talk about a movie, which is it?

Ha. I need episodes.

Tvshow - 001 - title
Tvshow - 099 - title
Tvshow - if I put 100, it'll treat it as season 1, ep 00.
At this point, MUST I put s00e100 then?

All my vids are just listed as 3 to 4 digit sequences. No letters. I like conformity, but I'll fix if I have to.

Doing this for all my home videos, so I have a lot of random stuff.

I'm guessing you're using an advancedsettings.xml file to change the matching patterns? If so, can you show us what you used. I think it should load your new pattern before using the default patterns, so you shouldn't need to do anything extra.

Easy solution is:

download Filebot,
feed your TV shows in and
get it to rename them <TV Show>.S<season>.E<episode>.<episode title>

Then you should have no more worries about naming conventions - simples!

I've used FileBot to rename over 16,000 TV episodes and 800 films - it also includes the option to undo the rename and is by far the most accurate application I've seen for renaming episodes.

The structure I use is:

\Show Name\Season 00\Show Name - 0x00 - Episode Title.extension

Example for The Walking Dead: G:\The Walking Dead\Season 01\The Walking Dead - 1x06 - TS-19.mkv

Assuming thetvdb or other supported info providers have the details then you could either use S00E00 or 1x100 for your example.

Guessing maybe a daily aired daytime show or something similar? No idea really.

Yes home videos, so filebot wont help.

You could try multiepisode as well.

S00E99E100E101

Adding home videos http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1299816 that is apparently a great way.

Oh, sorry I totally missed that. Well for home videos I would use either 000 or 0x00 structure. So you don't have to rename all your current videos just call number 100 S01E100 - that's the most simple way I can think of going forward for your collection.

yes theres no reason why all of them have to be specials, or series, they can just be movies, in a genre you created with tags.

Video_library_tags (wiki) but the link I posted before the guy came up with a complete and solution and tbh I think it works very very well

Mea culpa, I misinterpreted 'home videos', for 'video collection'. I've just looked at the post that was suggested by uNiversal and it looks like a a very neat solution. I may well do that for my home videos. I never thought of putting them into XBMC - thanks. A little project to get me out of the wife's hair while she' switching her programs on the TV.

Yeah. I have a TON of home vids. Since there are a lot of clips, I stuck everything in year, type, tags, etc. Just...have one that is a really big set. Already tagged them. It's cool stuff. I just have everything under TV SHOWS and seasons. My uncategorized are my specials. These things go back to 1981. They're more accessible this way. Custom nfo and covers and screen shots. Blam!
