Renaming all of my movie metadata
#1
I have been using XBMC for around 5 years now and i that time have accumulated a large collection of nicely organized movies all in their own folders with corresponding metadata.

Now recently I have added MediaBrowser3 and Plex into the mix and though they do share many similarities with metadata, some of the files are different.

My main concern is that I have always saved my poster art as "<movietitle>.tbn" for XBMC but MB seems to be saving it as "folder.jpg"

I know that XBMC can also read "folder.jpg" so what I wanted to do was bulk rename all of my <movietitle>.tbn files to folder.jpg and overwrite any existing folder.jpg files in that directory.

I am essentially trying to rid myself of those duplicate posters that are just named differently. What is the easiest/fastest way to do this?

If you have a Windows system you might want to try the Bulk Rename Utility

http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Main_Intro.php

I've used it in the past, though I don't know what it does if you want to rename to folder.jpg and such a file already exists.

Try it on a couple of test folders first.
