GeForce G210 loses audio on upgrade to 12.3
#1
I have a Dell OptiPlex 330 with a EVGi GeForce G210.

My initial install was under XBMCbuntu 12.2. The card just worked.

I recently ran updates on the system. All was good. But I noticed the XBMC didn't upgrade itself.

I added the xbmc repository, reran apt-get, and I was at 12.3. But now XBMC no longer sees my card in the audio output screen.

I did a do-release-upgrade, and the system wouldn't boot.

I did a clean install of Ubuntu 13.10, the sound worked.

I installed XBMC 12.3. The sound works in Ubuntu but not in the application.

I can see it listed and unmuted in alsamixer. aplay -l shows NVIDIA HDA listed as card 1.

I've tried installing the most current drivers. As of now I've had to roll back to XBMCbuntu 12.2 on Ubuntu 12.10.

Anyone have ideas what I should be looking for? All the threads I read about audio issues seem to be about the card not being recognized by Ubuntu....I don't have that problem, it's just not recognized by XBMC.
