Yes you can do it. Don't forget to comply with the GPL including supplying the source on demand.

How much support you give is up to you, it is a matter of contract between you and your buyers. However giving bad support will be the easiest way to fail. Having a whole lot of your unhappy customers here will piss people off and give you a bad name in the community.

Many have tried this, few have succeeded. It is not as easy as it looks. Finding an android system that is reliable for XBMC is not an easy task. On a commercial level it is even harder as you have to sell the box, your time to do the install and build in a very considerable support margin.
