This is persisting into the betas now, so I figured I'd better speak up.
My 2009 mac mini running Mavericks and the latest nightly continues to get off sync with the sound anytime I pull up an info window or pause a video. MKV is the format I am in typically though I can test other formats. Audio is connected via toslink optical.
Would a log help? I'm not sure it will show anything but if you let me know I'd be happy to provide, the problem is very easy to duplicate.
If I do a skip forward or skip back the audio syncs right back up again. It's only off by a second or two after the pause or info window.
