XBMC doesn't IMPORT some of channels from wmcserver
#1
I have WMC running. Everything is working. I'm running Nfusion Solaris Box (Satellite) connected thru IR Blaster, (Angle USB TV tuner) and also I have tuner card installed to my pc (win 7) which imports Local Tv. I use this pc as a backend. Basicly its a sweet Tv system as far as wmc. So my problem is XBMCbuntu (Frodo) or any xbmc (even installed on same pc) doesn't read INTERNATIONAL CHANNELS which those channels are 9883, 9884, 9885, 9886. As far as any other channels such as 200, 350, it runs fine. Its the 9000 ch numbers that my xbmc doesn't import from my client. Is there anyone who has such a problem as I do.Huh Please help.

Funny coincidence that you brought this up: The version of swmc you have filters out channels above 9000, that's because these channels (at least in the US) were set to the now abandoned 'internet tv' channels that used to be wmc. The coincidence is that we were making changes to the channel stuff in the version we are readying for release and I put in an option to stop doing this filtering - thinking maybe someone would need it. And here you are. We hope to release the new version this week, hopefully early in the week. There will be an option in the new config.xml file called: HideOutOfRangeChannels that you just set to 'false'.

I do have a question off topic. Will WMCserver read radio channels? Huh just curious... I do have FM antenna laying around...

It doesn't yet, its on the todo list but is rarely requested so the priority isn't very high.

Well you know, I was hoping to be able to listen to some radio here and there.... Normally everyone listens to radio in the car, but there are days that live TV is boring. Some people like me, like to go out of the way with there XBMC... (EXAMPLE: I have dual cable outlet in each room. there is one HTPC running XBMCbuntu sitting in the basement with moded fonts for old TVs connected to VCR witch feeds separate cable outlets. So one outlet is regular cable service provider and second cable outlet is XBMCbuntu set to channel 3 for regular TVs 4:3 and that includes my garage, with video switch next to TVs. Hit A for Cable and B for XBMC. I use RF unit and android remotes witch I control it.) I run surround from each TV in every room, so FM stations that would be something to show off to your friends.... Not to mention that all the radio streams are nice but to be able listen to your local stations like news radio etc... that would be something to look forward too. After all local TV is working how about local radio stations to work too? It would make awesome package to have. So I guess next big question is how do we boost up priority on this project?

Cool setup, thanks for explaining. You are not the first to ask about radio, but its not requested very often. Its a separate area of the wmc dll's that do rf and they aren't the same as the tv stuff, so its not as straight forward as you might think. Rather than orphaning this topic in this thread, add it to the feature request thread sticky (maybe you'll get some me-too's to raise the priority).
