was this a question or a fact? If it was a question, I've heard from a user that he setup his system to an extra wide resolution and is forcing the SBS GUI mode in XBMC which seems to work for him

Wondering if you asking about if you use XBMC with 3D home cinema system with a silver screen for passive polarized glasses and dual projectors?

As if you are referring to these kind of roll your own DIY systems for polarized 3D projection:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/3d-p...589-4.html
http://hackaday.com/2012/09/13/building-...our-attic/

If that is what you are really asking about here then this is probably the wrong forum as that is not directly related to XBMC at all.

You should then instead ask in other home cinema forums how you can setup a 3D system compatible with the 3D modes that XBMC support, such as these:
http://www.mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=509
http://www.avsforum.com/t/1282158/1080p-...projectors

As for the indirect question about what modes of 3D that XBMC supports you should checkout this other forum thread:

I do have a question about this subject.

I have a 2 projector (Full HD beamer) setup that sends out a Left and a Right image trough polarized filters, one for vertical and one for horizonal light. With 2 passive 3D glasses it creates an Stereoscopic image. Normally I use the program "Stereoscopic player" or "Bino3D" for watching 3D movies with HalfSBS format.
The setup looks sort of like this --> http://www.world-of-3d.com/printable/ima...mp_650.jpg

The programs I currently use:
Stereoscopic player --> http://www.3dtv.at/
Bino3D --> http://bino3d.org/

What my setup does is;
- send the Left half of the SBS movie to projector 1, connected to DVI port 1 of the graphics card
- send the Right half of the SBS movie to projector 2, connected to DVI port 2 of the graphics card
- These images are then projected over eachother with parralax on a special silver screen that reflects the horizontal and vertical light back to the 3D glasses.

When I read that my favourite HTPC software enabled 3D, I was eager to try this with my projector setup. But unfortunately, XBMC does not support multiple video output. The problem with XBMC, is that it can only send an image to 1 of the outputs. So either DVI1 or DVI2 (or HDMI for that matter, depends on the graphics card)
This results in XBMC displaying the HalfSBS image on only 1 projector, thus the stereoscopic image is not working.

I would love to see XBMC support HalfSBS images split into 2 outputs, like "Stereoscopic player" and "Bino" are able to do.
Is it possible to include this feature?

how about using a extended desktop and make XBMC span over both displays. Then always have it run in SBS mode (atm XBMC will fallback to 2D mode on each startup, but you could run a little python script to toggle SBS mode on XBMC startup). Using 2 separate displays is not planned atm (and could be tricky to do cross platform)

It will work, if I run XBMC in windowed mode and pull it across both screens, stretching the whole XBMC interface to 2 screens. Problem with that is that it's not as user friendly as it could be Smile. And it won't run fullscreen like this. As soon as you select full screen, it will revert back to 1 screen.

Btw, I'm running the windows build.

I don't know exactly how the other programs do it, but my guess it splits the HalfSBS file and sends the first half to projector 1 and the second half to project 2. If this is the case, I'd think that it's possible with XBMC, as it already has the option to select Screen 1 or Screen 2 in settings.
