Solved Setup Radio Channels
#1
I noticed this:
- Audio-only Tv channels now detected and remuxed more efficiently
- Audio-only Tv channels can now be displayed in the ‘radio’ section of xbmc (requires .94 or higher of pvr.wmc)

in the server change log.

I am using three Hauppauge Colossus cards. Channels 400-450 are more or less music based channels. I would like to have them recognized as "Radio" channels and grouped as such.
I have made a "favorites lineup" with these items in it. They do show as a group in XBMC, but I can not find a way to make them a "radio" group.

So, I was wondering if someone could point me in the correct direction to getting the Radio channels in ServerWMC or WMC setup so that xbmc can see them as a Radio group.

If there is not a way to do this with WMC or ServerWMC at the moment, could it be made possible in the future? Please....

Thanks

Scarecrow did this part of the code and I think he is busy right now. I know you have to be using the new client for this feature and also the newest swmc, did you upgrade both? Also, I don't think it was necessary to group them (but it shouldn't hurt either). If that doesn't cut it, let me know and I'll look closer at his changes if he doesn't show up before then.

yes, make sure you are running the latest ServerWMC backend and pvr.wmc frontend addon versions.

If it still isnt working for you, please post a ServerWMC log including full channel details by following these steps:

Stop ServerWMC
Set "Debug_AllChannelDetail" option to true in %ProgramData%\VDSoftware\ServerWMC\config,xml
Start ServerWMC
Post log to pastebin and put the link here

Guys, Thanks for the replies. I have updated everything. XBMC beta 3, ServerWMC-1134 and PVR-WMC .2.95.

I think though that WMC does not "see" these channels as radio channels, as these channels are technically a regular "tv" type channel with audio and video and the card is just a strait analog/HDMI digitizer. Anyway, I have posted the logs here: Edit "Removed Log on longer needed"
The channels in question start here: 322: Channel: 400 : MC01 - 574D2D
ends here: 371: Channel: 449 : MC50 - 574C6A

The file was to big to post on pastebin.

Thanks for having a look at them.

Will .2.93 be able to update from the UI plugin details to .2.95? Mine is the 3/30 nightly but the update is grayed out. Is it tied to a nightly or must it be updated manually?

@krustyreturns Yes ALL channels have video with them. I don't want the video just the music...

Unfortunately that won't work, at least in this version. In this version, only channels with no video are mapped to radio. We could certainly do what you want in the next version, now that scarecrow has laid the groundwork.

@SoCalXMBC

You need to install 2.95 by hand. Scarecrow says the xbmc team is not accepting new features for gotham, so they won't accept 2.95. We are hoping they will accept some bug fixes though for the xbmc distributed version of our plugin (witch will be version 2.94 of pvr.wmc if they do)

Yeah if WMC doesnt identify them as "Audio" channels then they wont fall under the Radio Channel processing. What I think we can do is add a new config file setting that would allow you to define the channel number/callsign that you want to be defined as radio channels. We would then treat these the same way as those that are flagged by WMC as audio channels

Well the only thing I can think to say is THANK YOU, You guys ROCK! Big Grin

I would greatly appreciate it if you did add that in as an option. I would imagine that others will find this to be very useful as well.

Thanks again.

@Heido123,

Which of the channels is the 'mostly' audio channel?

Ok. Scarecrow is working on an upgrade to allow these to be designated as radio. It turns out it was a trickier then we originally thought. It will be in the next release.
