Req SAT>IP PVR addon
#1
SAT>IP servers/LNBs encapsulate the transport stream of their DVB tuners into IP packets and stream them into the LAN (HTTP/RTP/RTSP unicast or multicast).
SAT>IP has been ratified as EN 50585 on 2014-03-24. Smile
SAT>IP also solves the annoying lack of DVB-C/S(2)/T hardware drivers on Linux/MacOS. Smile

Protocol Specification

Please add client support for SAT>IP! Smile

Unfortunately the SimpleIPTV-addon only hands over a URL to XBMC. No chance for a EPG or Teletext parser.
EPG can be used via XMLTV, but adding XMLTV station names to 200+ channels in the M3u is a pain in the ...

I used VDR for 10 years, but if you just want to watch LiveTV/listen to DVB radio with EPG and Teletext it's overkill and very complex to configure. It's optimised as a setop-box and does a very bad job as streaming server or backend. Installation is nothing for average joes.

What I want to suggest is a simple one-click installation PVR addon without external programs. Recording can be added later.

You are asking for the impossible. Not even a standard TV works out-of-the-box, there's always some setup to be done.

If an addon just looks for SAT>IP servers via UPNP and adds them as UPNP sources (Music for radio programs, LiveTV for TV programs), XBMC would just get a list of HTTP-URLs providing a remuxed DVB transport stream per TV/radio program. So playback is already possible. What's missing is a DVB-EIT parser for EPG/Teletext ... Wink

@renne except a backend that supports SAT>IP will most likely support EIT too so it can parse it from the stream.
