MSI Wind Box DC110
#1
Hi guys.

I'm looking around for a mini PC to run as a HTPC. Due to the lack of availability of the NUCs in the UK, I looked at other options and found the MSI Wind Box DC110 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FZ...g=ho01f-21

I've searched the forums and done some Googling but I haven't really found any solid mention of XBMC on these devices.

I'd be using it solely to run XBMC - watching files from my external hard drive (including 720/1080p) and doing some fairly light streaming and I intend to run openELEC on it.

It's very affordable and comes with 4GB RAM and a 500GB HDD ready installed.

I believe that this is running the Ivy Bridge CPU.

I was hoping that someone would be able to advise me on whether this would be any good for what I require or not?

Cheers

Afraid not. This was £113 on amazon when I posted but it has since gone back up to £192. Even if it was worth that price, I wouldn't buy it out of stubbornness for missing out on the lower price. At £192, a basic NUC with RAM and a SSD would be cheaper to set up and there's plenty of guides on it already. However, if I see it at £113 again I'll be snapping it up and testing it out.

I may be too late but you guys may want to check this thread that I just posted: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=200855 ... £99.99 with free shipping for the DC111. I just grabbed one and will update that thread after it comes.

Amazon still has it for £154
