I dunno what the f a X-close icon top-right is.

If it's something you click a mouse pointer on, it has no place in a 10 foot UI like XBMC.

If you want to close a stream, press the stop button on your remote.

If you touch the screen once you should get the osd which has a stop button. Two clicks I know, but I don't know any skins that have a close button on a playback window.

I have a simple add-on that sounds like it would also fit your needs. I've currently hard coded an rtsp url but I can add a setting for the url. I'll report back when it's available.

I would be delighted to test you Addon. My url would be though http://127.0.0.1/video.mjpeg. I can tweak the python myself. Smile

Truly Thanx Leopold! Works like a charm!! Settings file is created under addon_data folder and there it's easely manipulated. Works even with http://user:passpord@pi:port/video.mjpg!

The problem now is that OpenElec do not allow / have any apt-get packsystem in order to install mjpeg-streamer into it, so RaspBMC is the only one then..

EDIT:
I installed "Mjpeg-Streamer" into RaspBMC with autostart and the Python works great with local IP assigment, but system really did not perform as expected.. Video was buffered like 10 sec and then shown as 4x speed..
So XBMC and usb-cam server in the same machine is no_go for now..
