New wiki page for posting and requesting new versions of librtmp
#16
Hi i need some help with this subject. Some of the streams stop from working after one minute, so i replaced the librtmp in Program Files/XBMC/system/players/dvdplayer/librtmp.dll with the one from K-S-V zip. It didn't change much. I'm not sure i did it right tough. There are also some exe files in the zip should i use them? And there is another librtmp.dll file in Program Files/XBMC/system should it be replaced also?

Thanks.

Doesnt KSV have a giant patch file in his downloads you can just apply?

Is it possible to get the latest librtmp for the ATV? I'm using the librtmp for windows and the streams are working now I would be glad if I could them watch on my ATV. So I've tried compiling but had no luck.

Davilla has done this for us, not sure if it's in the nightlies yet and not sure what the date is on the patch he is pulling in

This is such a confusing mess. I can compile stuff (I'm on Linux) but where are the sources!? This Link in the Wiki sounds like it could help, but it's broken: http://stream-recorder.com/forum/release...11030.html

Not sure how to get this any more noticed

But is it too late to add in the latest librtmp patches into Frodo before final release?

Davilla was good enough to bump it up a few months ago, but we are still rather behind - https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/commit/2c84...63d9a216f5

Would be a shame to have another major version of XBMC go out and still have to manually update this

I think this is just one of those things that needs to eventually become a binary add-on (once we have those), due to it it being updated so often.

I have XBMC Live 9.11 that I've manually updated to Dharma, and now to Eden, I want to update librtpm for twich addon, would the precompiled version for xcbuntu on the wiki work? - I assume not.

You seem to need to register to access the page:

Seems they've deleted the thread for some reason. Here's a web.archive.org link: http://web.archive.org/web/2012070415035...11030.html

Hi,

I was quite happily using the XBMC version 12.4.0, which is Minix branded version of XBMC for my Minix Neo X7.

However, SportsDevil, the main reason I am using XBMC, stated in red lettering that the librtmp file needed updating.

My device is android. I have yet to see any stepwise instructions for doing this. My device is rooted, and I purchased Root Explorer. I deleted the original librtmp.so file, and replaced it with the most up to date one I could find.

I mistakenly did this before realising I had selected a "Gotham" librtmp.so file, so when I tried to open XBMC it immediately shut down.

I feel that a lot of people know what they are doing. I am very new to XBMC in anycase, and android is something completely new.

Is anyone out there able to build a new version of 12.4.0 with an updated librtmp? Embarrassingly, I don't know what KSV stands for. However, with instructions I am pretty much capable of doing most things with a PC. So, if there are any instructions for creating an *.apk file with updated version of librtmp.so, I am quite prepared to do this myself.

I read all the pages of updating librtmp, and what I can gather is that it is easier to install as a new *.apk. There is somebody called Red Penguin, who seems to know a lot of information about all this. I apologise as I only know what I know.

If anyone can help, advise, point me in the right direction that will be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Matthew[/size]
