I deleted the former log, rebooted, started logging, and saw TV for about a min with a lagging channel, and disabled logging again.

Try changing your scaling and deinterlacing settings, an ION is pretty weak when it comes to that sort of stuff.

I disabled interlacing, and that seemed to do the trick.

It's sometimes a bit glitchy, but it nearly holds the HD channels steady at 25 FPS now Big Grin

Another thing, i tried using USB 2.0 drives for timeshifting, and that failed because of the lag of speed.

I'm thinking i could just add a very small internal SSD for timeshifting using SATA 2.0.
Does that sound like a good replacement?
I was thinking of a drive like this:

I wouldn't recommend disabling deinterlacing, SD content will look horrible. Try the various interlacing settings to see which one works in all scenarios and then choose "Set as default for all movies".

I think I have close to none SD material.
And any settings I choose with interlacing makes the playback choppy.

It's now completely disabled, and I love how my new PVR system is working :-)

Did you set deinterlacing to "auto"? It sounds like you set it to "On", which you should never do.

I tried all the settings, and only off looks good.
I tried looking at some old dvd rips with and without interlacing, and I couldn't see a improvement in the picture.

You're probably watching progressive material which don't require deinterlacing. The "auto" option should still work, it should simply turn off deinterlacing when it's not needed.

When i set it on auto, it would lag.
Only off seems to give me smooth playback :S
Is that normal ? Tongue

I've got another error.

Some of my channels, pixelate, ALOT, and it's very frustrating to have my girlfriend nagging all day Tongue
I recorded it with my phone.
This is live.
There is a bit right at the start, and again at 00:17
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PfOXvIE4TA

I tried to record it in XBMC, and playing it in XBMC gives the same result.

If i watch the recording with MPC (a CCCP install) there is no problem.

I have Gotham, beta 4 on my laptop for testing, and there is no problem there either.
No problem with the live TV or the recorded bit, that gives errors on Frodo.

Any way to solve this, besides waiting for Gotham to get released?
