Linux Frodo - Crash
#1
Hi,

I was upgrading my XBMC to "Frodo". I am able to logon to XBMCbuntu. However, XBMC is not loading. The crash logs are located at http://pastebin.com/bjkV9bmz.

I have about 10-15 such log files. Could anyone help. Please let me know if you require more information.

Regards,
Venkat

Sorry, the pastbin link is not working.

your GFX driver is broken: Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 0x301)
Install a proper driver for your card.

Thanks for the input. I have a RADEON HD4350 (AGP) which is a pretty old card.

Hi,

Tried a fresh install from scratch. Same issue. Planning to go back to a previous release and test.

Supplementary request, could you please point me to a place where I can download earlier versions? The downloads page only displays 12.3 & 13-beta links.

Venkat.

AGP card that is old Smile what ver of xbmc were you upgrading from? pretty sure from later ver of xbmc-live wouldn't run on anything below a nvidia fx5500 and current ver min is a 6 series card
good luck finding an older ver of the linux xbmc Im sure its on the net somewhere Smile try a search for "xbmc 10.0 dharma iso"

Actually, I bought the card about 2 years back to extend the life of my, otherwise working, PC with P4. BTW, I was wrong about the Card, it is Radeon HD 4650 not HD 4350 as stated earlier.

My current config of this machine is 250 GB HDD, 2GB of DDR2 RAM.

I was running xbmc 11.0 earlier for more than a year with out any issue. AFAIK, I was running the proprietary ATI driver for this card on this machine. This PC is connected to my CathodeRay-TV using s-video out from the video card.

http://www.rage3d.com/reviews/video/sapp.../index.php is the link to the card, if you are curious.

Further to the above query, I did the following in the last two days on the same hardware:

1. Installed Linux Mint 13 LTS (Maya). Installed xbmc on it. Then upgraded the hw related drivers as per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack.
XBMC started working, however, when playing HD content, there was major stutter. Maybe my HW configuration could not handle it.
2. I reverted to XBMCbuntu with Frodo and am back to square one.

In post #3, wsnipx says, "your GFX driver is broken: Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 0x301)
Install a proper driver for your card. ". Frankly, I do not know how. Could someone explain?

Venkat
