Disable popup for "XBMC update"
#1
I have just installed XBMC Ubuntu.

I often get a popup that reminds to me update XBMC. It is annoying and I wish to disable the popup. How do I do that?

update XBMC if you are running a Gotham build.

When you are still using Frodo12.3 there shouldn't be one.
If you are running an older one it's just a one time notify you are running an outdated build which is common for a fresh XBMCbuntu install

I'm running 12.3 so when following the upgrade steps, it says I'm running the latest.

The popup still comes up from time to time telling me to update.

I want to disable the popup. How can I do that?

Give me a Debug Log so I can fix this.

Actually, I want to clarify what version I am running.

I installed the ISO downloaded from here:

http://mirrors.xbmc.org/releases/XBMCbun...NVIDIA.iso

I am presuming that is the latest XBMC given I downloaded it directly from the site. If not, what exactly do I do to update it?

I have also done this:

sudo apt-get --only-upgrade install xbmc xbmc.bin
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Note, selecting 'xbmc-bin' for regex 'xbmc.bin'
xbmc is already the newest version.

this contains xbmc 12.2, while there is 12.3 available. So the update notification is absolutely correct.
