Frodo & Gotham Linux Builds for Amlogic M3 Devices
(2014-06-05, 12:59)dlxs84 Wrote: @dhead - finally got round to getting a log for you in regards to the audio issue with streams at 22,050 (or anything below 44k I think). This is on the Gotham builds. Ok on Frodo. Log here -

http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=217769

I played a stream where it was an issue and then a stream that plays ok and then another one with the issue again

Let me know if you need anything else. Cheers.

Thanks dlxs84, I will run some testing next week to see if this introduced by one of the patches that added to Gotham (or missing from) thus it can easily be fixed.

Bluetimes M3
This image was not tested, I recommend to have a recovery image at hand, initial report says it doesn't boot.
I will not build updated images without users reporting that this works.
Post a boot log of Android if you want to see the mac address change issue fixed and component output enabled, and also link to an Android or Linux image that doesn't got these issues.

Hello dhead, I got the Bluetimes M3 HDD and wanted to test the Gotham builds, but like it say's it doesn't boot. Is there already a fix for this?

Kind regards.

@dhead
So I tried after waiting for a long time for all the add-ins to update. 1080p playback is still choppy since the CPU is getting pegged on playback.

This is on the MyGigca 510B using the A11 image. Running wired ethernet to the NAS. Previous Frodo builds didn't have any issues.

Anything I can get from the box itself to help diagnose?

Thanks for all the hard work and cheers!

This has not been tested (the only test volunteer is AWOL), do not install on your device if you don't got a recovery image and know how to recover bricked device.
You'll probably lose the boot logo (device will still enter recovery without it).
Please post if this works for you.

.

Will be happy to test this in 2 weeks! I have been waiting for this thanks!

Works perfect, and fast. Thanks dreamers.

I loaded the image on my MyGica A11. I watched a couple of movies using it, seems to be working great so far. Thanks dhead.

I seem to be the only person on planet earth who cannot install this build on my Slav 2.2.

Installation seems to go normally. No error messages of any kind. Then it freezes on the "MX Linux" boot screen and will not go any further. Sad

Is there something different in how this build installs, as opposed to J1nx, Static, STTV, or any of the others (all of which I can install easily, but unfortunately none of which have a Gotham build yet)

@Nostrodamu

Upload a boot log of one of the working Linux builds and I'll look into it.

The easiest way to do it is:
* Connect a usb drive to your device and power it on.
* Ssh to your device with Putty (user: root, pass: letmein).
* Enter the command "df" that will show you what are the paths that storage partitions (filesystems) are mounting on, and find the path of the usb drive filesystem (usually the filesystem path of partition of the first usb drive is /dev/sda1, when "a" is the drive identifier and "1" is the partition number).
* Go to the directory where the partition is mount on with the command "cd", for example if the path is "/mnt/usb1" then the command is "cd /mnt/usb1".
* Now run the command "ls" to show you the files on the usb drive to confirm you're in the right place.
* Enter the command "dmesg > boot.log" that will create a file boot.log with the boot log.
* Run the command "sync" to make sure the changes are written to the usb drive (and not cached in the ram).
* Powered off you device.
* Disconnect the usb drive.

Admittedly, I'm no expert at reading these logs, but the only "error" message I'm seeing here is something to do with HDMI. I've never had any video issues with this build, and with your build, the HDMI seems to be working, as I do get that boot image before it crashes. So I'm a little confused as to how that would be an error.

But I would appreciate it much if you're seeing anything there that I missed.

Hey mate, have you had a chance to try out any 1080p mkv's? It works really well for me apart from those. It maxes out the CPU then chokes every half a second while decoding for me.

@dhead,
Mate,do u have Xbmc 13.1 linux build for m3 gbox or mx we can use it?

Hi dhead

I confirm that your build for the Blutimes M3 crashes at the same point as other corey builds. Seems to be a problem with component ybrpr output, as it will boot sometimes on HDMI.

The Gotham 13.0 build posted by dreamers works fine, although takes a while to boot. Playback is smooth though, and it seems to be less CPU intensive.

I'm not sure if it's my unit, but I still can't get a stable MAC address and therefore static IP. As this has a 3.5in bay, which would be great as a NAS, the lack of static IP is frustrating.

@Jackhari

I'm a little but busy with studies for exams and the changes between the latest build and official 13.1 are minimal but I'll compile a 13.1 build soon to make everybody happy.

@Rod1

I haven't had the time to look what wrong with the BlueM3 build but reports suggesting that the GBox 2.0 build might work for the BlueM3.
I'm guessing that the MAC changes because the factory didn't set a value and thus the kernel is regenerating it on every boot.
I can set a default value for it but if you've got more than one Bluetimes device they will conflict so it's not the best approach.
There might be an Amlogic tool for Windows that can set this value by usb and without the need for soldering the ttl port, I'll see if I can find it and test it with my M3 device.

Hi Dhead and folks,

I don't know why the xios build didn't want to load even though I wiped everything?
It shows an error 7 or something.
Should i revert to android before i load it? or the same as xios official build just by loading it as an update on top of the previous linux build?

Thank you though, crossing my fingers to seeing gotham on the xios

Ps: I noticed that airplay doesn't work yet on gbox gotham latest build, is it a known issue?
