Bug Why some movies just work on analog audio settings?
#1
Hello,

Recently I tried to watch two movies on my OPENElec and the movies has no audio. If it's the configuration is on "HDMI" it does not work but when I change to analog 2.0 it works normally. I truly don't see too much difference between hmdi 7.1 and analog 2.0 (sorry for my ignorance) but why is this happening? Is it a bug? Should I try to convert to another format? If yes, please suggest me a good converter and the configuration that I should do. It's annoying me, I like to have grate image but never had problems with audio... Until now.

Thank you

Most likely not a bug.

It sounds like you trying to play a format that can't be passed through for decoding by whatever audio is playing through e.g. TV

What setting to Analog 2.0 does is force xbmc to decode all audio formats itself to PCM 2.0 which is compatible with any equipment that accepts a digital audio signal.

Post a log_file (wiki) as this will include your audio device capabilities.
