Android Some MP4 video files will play audio only
#1
I have some MP4 video files that will play audio only.
This is problem only in XBMC, and external android player will play them just fine.
The same file will play fine in XBMC on windows PC.
Any idea what's wrong with this type of media?
Thanks

Sorry about that, you're right Sleepy
It is Minix XBMC (you know so well Big Grin )
I'm not home now so don't have the log.
I thought it could be something simple.

I'm just pulling this out of my butt, so I could be totally wrong, but it seems XBMC for Android isn't quite as good as XBMC for other platforms when it comes to falling back on ffmpeg (software decoding).

Well, the problem is two-sided:
1) Some h/w decoders just cannot decode some files
2) We only know when it starts decoding and throw errors, but the xbmc codec architecture does not allow us to bail out and fallback to ffmpeg at this point.

That's maybe something we should strive to improve for Helix.
