Few of issues that could possibly be related.

1. When selecting "resume" after coming back to a show/movies it doesn't register and always starts at the beginning
2. FF or RW doesn't work with AVI's. MP4 do. MKV seem to function normally
3. AVI crashes in the middle of a movie and have to start from the beginning

OpenELEC 3.2.4 (Frodo) is no longer being developed.

Try upgrading to a OpenELEC 4.0 Beta (based on Gotham), or a test build which has even more improvements. "Crashes" could be power related, or simply due to firmware/software bugs that have already been fixed in more recent builds.
