As soon as this happens, XBMC crashes back to frontrow. Repro is very simple, navigate to smb share, pick any file, play for some length of time, stop, wait. About two minutes later, poof.

I've used NFS for years, but am trying to move to SMB on my NAS along with Mavericks for better user access controls. I have no problems with AFP or NFS connections from XBMC and otherwise, the system is fine. Any help or input would be much appreciated. I'm linux savvy and can do all sorts of debugging.

Well, I upgraded to xbmc 12.3 and the problem has disappeared. More importantly, I haven't hosed my XBMC ATV2 setup. Thank goodness for progress!
