Crack.rar
#1
I am running XBMC 12.3 on Ubuntu 12.04 and all of a sudden have an issue where whenever I load a video I get a crack.rar message loading prior to video playing.
The only thing I was doing prior was adding directories using Yatze.

It is similar to the crack.zip bug http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=136325

Any ideas where this is coming from?

I'd say from torrent downloads.
Check the content of /home/xbmc/.xbmc/temp and delete this file if it is there.

Obviously you have a file named crack.rar somewhere. Search for it and delete it and your problem is gone.

The root cause is usually that you scan some items into your library and XBMC tries to read the contents of any RAR archives inside. Some RAR files cannot be read directly and must be unpacked (which usually happens in .xbmc/temp), and if the file is larger than a few megabytes it will prompt you if you want to do it.

Excellent, I managed to find crack.rar in one of the directories that XBMC scans and removed it to another folder and cleaned it up in the temp folder.
Problem solved, thanks for all your help.
