I'll dig in and do some research, and try to figure out how to install "_scproxy" for Python on an AppleTV running Kodi. Hopefully this can help others who run into the same issue. I'm just not sure it's possible outside of Kodi though, as this device isn't jailbroken.
In the meantime I'll stick with version 1.1.5 of this add-on which still works fine, thankfully. Perhaps if more/similar reports come in, a future update of this add-on could accommodate for users who lack the same libraries?
