Have you tried running a "git clean -xfd"?

No, I only downloaded as Zip via web browser, extracted, then bootstrap, configure and make. I even don't have git installed. I also have older sources and they compile without problems. It doesn't seem to be missing dependecies on my system, so I reported it here.
