Monetllese, already commented on the ticket. Tested this out and it works! Was able to stream HD from PlayOn withOUT use of BubbleUPnP. Thanks very much for this. Hopefully if incorporated into Gotham 13.1, the Openelec people will include it as well.

This improvement has just been merged into XBMC master/mainline and will be available in the next nightly and monthly builds. Unfortunately it won't make it into any of the upcoming bugfix releases of the latest stable Gotham release and will have to wait for the next stable release.

Just came over here after reading the Playon thread. Adding my support that I too would love to see this in a 13.2 as well, but if it can't happen until Helix, I'll try the BubbleUPnP workaround instead.

Is anyone on XBMCUbuntu nightly AND PlayOn getting HD?

Got in touch with the PlayOn folks. Although the current fix works on Android and Windows nightlies, it isnt on OpenELEC ones. According to the devs at PlayOn, they are still seeing this:
user-agent: "UPnP/1.0 DLNADOC/1.50", handles chunking = False
Is this something OpenELEC is doing or a patch(?) left out of the linux builds?

I have no idea about the OpenELEC build system. On Android and Linux the flag should come in through configure.in and Makefile.include.in.
