Problem with apostrophes in filenames
#1
Hi, I'm using XBMC Frodo on Windows as a home media server, and I've noticed that any MP3s with apostrophes in the filename only play on some client hardware. Doing a little digging I see that where it works like on my laptop, the GET request for the file comes in as (eg) "GET [bunch of hex characters]Let's%20Go.mp3" wheras my AV reciever, which I'd really like to be the one that works is trying to pull "GET [bunch of hex characters]Let's%20Go.mp3" and the request is failing.

Did a search online and there seems to be some confusion over whether or not apostrophes should be escaped this way as per the DLNA spec. Sad Does anyone here know for sure? Because I have a feeling the support request I logged with the AV reciever company is going to try and pull that line. Is there a way of getting round it other than renaming however many MP3s? Or is there any likelihood of a permissive mode in XBMC that detects this escaping and works around it?
