When I connect a USB drive to my HTPC it automounts in a specific folder. The USB drive contains two folder named "movies" and "series". I was looking at the possibility to add these sources automatically in XBMC. If I where to add them in sources.xml XBMC wouldn't know if it was movies or series, right?
Is this possible to automate somehow?

I'll try and bump this one time since it's still of interest for me. I can add the sources in sources.xml (which is not recommended, I know) but can I define what type the sources are somewhere? Or where is that information stored?

Info would be stored in the database when you set content on the folders through the GUI.

if the path is always the same, just set add a new source for each of them in the GUI and set the content to Movies or TV Shows respectively. Just don't clean the library when the USB drive is disconnected.
