I have installed XBMC Gotham/RC1 on a Mac Mini (OSX 10.9.x, latest model) and want to use the aTV remote with it.
After starting Mini/XBMC the remote does not work. However if I go to Services and change the setting "Apple Remote" to no matter what then it works. It even works in any setting.
I have tried to solve this problem by installing Candelair but that did not help so I uninstalled and restarted.
For what it's with: if I start EyeTV then the remote works as expected. Also the remote works fine when I use it with the aTV.
I have gone thru great length to make the whole setup Wife and Child friendly but a working remote is needed for that.
