Sorry, don't understand this reference.

Quote:Fix your xorg.conf if relevant modes are missing. If your TV is a 1080i device - use 720p. xbmc outputs progressive, the 30hz you are seeing _is_ the 60i.

My AVR can't pass progressive video. I never had this problem with Frodo. I am certain that it said 1920x1080@60 in the GUI of Frodo. Nothing has changed.

This is in my xorg.conf file

Code:
Section "Screen"
    Option      "HWCursor" "Off"
    Identifier     "Screen0"
    Device         "Device0"
    Monitor        "Monitor0"
    DefaultDepth    24
    Option         "NoLogo" "True"
    Option         "DynamicTwinView" "False"
    SubSection     "Display"
        Depth       24
        Modes "1920x1080_60i"
    EndSubSection
EndSection

Quote:Post: DISPLAY=:0 /usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc-xrandr | pastebinit

Disable passthrough, choose 2.0 speaker output, disable vaapi - only keep vdpau, use xbmc 13.1b1 and don't mix issues. Let's track one at a time.

I'm just off to bed (system is shut-down), so will try this tomorrow. Thx for your help Smile

If your TV cannot do 60 hz - then it's very good for it, that it does not appear in that gui.

Here is the new log of the "Playback Failed" message (this only happens at the very end of the movie / episode) - using the parameters as stated above. I have put the upgrade back as you stated above as well. (not sure I'm using this xbmc 13.1b1 version specifically - but I upgraded as above)

Please Note:...

Your Clannad Test File did NOT fault.
My Universal Logo via IFO activation DID fault
My Universal Logo via VOB activation direct did NOT fault.

I have divided the log with a comment at the play points. Thx

Your TV cannot(!) do 60hz at 1920x1080. It is a typical HD Ready device, that only does progressive, when you run 720p - xbmc-xrandr clearly shows that.

this very much looks like a HD Ready 720p TV. Those will expose 1080p modes, but ONLY interlaced. Set xbmc to 720p and it should work.

Here are the modes as given by a script I ran some time back with the HDMI cable connected directly to the TV. When xbmc is connected directly to the TV (This was using Frodo) and the GUI was set at 1920x1080p the TV info panel advised it was connected at 1920x1080p@60Hz.

What I struggle to understand, is that everything was working fine under Frodo, but now I seem to be having this resolution issue.

The result of xbmc-xrandr are with the HDMI cable connected through the AVR (which doesn't do progressive Sad Sad Sad)

Sorry to bring up an old thead (couple months) but I too get this error on 3 different systems. The three systems are 1 with monitor while the other 2 are TV's. None of what was mentioned here worked and it only happens at the very end of the movie file. As my DVDs are origional, in ISO format, this happens towards the very end of the credits (about 5 secs before it).

I've tried Gotham's final version and the Alpha Helex with nothing else installed but the package on the confluence skin, same results.

I can't say I really noticed this in Frodo however I very rarely see my movies out to the end of the credits, so I can only mirror what KidKiwi has indicated above.

Any one experience this, maybe it's an ISO playback issue as KidKiwi said his are ISO also.., not sure.

I too have this issue, I'm not any kind of power user so running scripts and the like is a bit over my head. I am using Gotham on Windows 7 64 bit and playing VOB format files. After each movie, XBMC produces the "Playback Failed Check the Log File for Details" message. Yes, I am using Samba shares. No, they are not unreliable (wired GbE, to NAS with load balancing). I also had no problem with Frodo.

Could this have something to do with playlists? I recently started messing around with those.

Can't post a debug log ATM but will try to get one up.

FWIW, no functionality seems to be affected at all.

I don't think it has anything to do with Playlists as I get this from a clean Gotham install using the default Movies or TV Shows menu, it doesn't matter what skin it gives the same error (even Confluence).

Hello

I'm fairly new to xbmc and it was great in the beginning but now it's been more of a headache than anything, please help!
I'm running linux on an android tv box (Q7). Here's my problem, add ons and movie menus seem to load up just fine, but when I try to play a movie I keep getting "playback failed" errors and when I finally do get a movie to play it'll only play for a couple seconds and then it'll kick me back out to the movie menu.

Here is my log file
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=358411

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
