Basically, although I there's a few other caveats. Basically audio codec licencing from, DTS in particular, is a minefield only for the brave, hence why so many products from the smaller OEM's ship without licences, as unless you're an big corporation such as a Apple, Google, Sony, Samsung etc they are very difficult to deal with.

So basically it does what the raspberry pi can do. If you give it a film with dts-ma it sends the DTS core which isn't HD audio but the film plays fine

I have 2 Amlogic S802 units, a Minix Neo X8-H and a OTT M8 (tomato) with finless rom. Without a doubt the Minix is a better out of the box machine the M8 is close behind after updates. I am running dts Passthrough and not a single issue. There was a issue in Minix early beta firmware but the latest beta 8 minix x8h firmware is running so good it's scary.
