I haven't had a chance to methodically check this out yet, but I'm just throwing this out in case anyone else is experiencing this. Recording Skip forward / back used to work properly, but now it is totally random and skips around, but I'm not sure if it's something I have done yet. Unfortunately I was optimistic and made a bunch of changes at the same time.

Is this problem happening on all recordings or just active (in progress) recordings?

Not sure if it is related, but on my system (Gotham + latest ServerWMC) 2x Fast Foward seems to work fine, but 4x,8x,16x Fast Foward just stutters around a bit, sometimes freezes, and generally doesn't move any faster that 2x. This happens on recorded TV and liveTV that has been paused.
Think I might have answered my own question... I have installed the latest version of ServerWMC, however my XBMC client pvr.wmc is not the latest. I assumed that it would update automatically, but it did not. Is it best to just download manually and then install from zip over the top of the old version? or should i uninstall the old version first?

Last I heard, we can't get anymore changes into Gotham. So to get the newest addon you have to download it and install manually. You can overwrite the old version with the new one.

Im using the latest serverwmc and latest addon. In finished recordings is where I noticed this. Later on I'll check to see if its in ongoing recordings as well.

Ok, a theory came to me which I've just tested and what I've found is, this is related to having a commercial skip EDL file present. Deleting the EDL file allows the recording to play properly with skip forward/back.

That makes sense. It couldn't be our stuff because, for pre-recorded shows, we are just pointing xbmc at the wtv file.
