Video freezes - audio continues
#1
I was running Openelec 3.2.4 with XBMC 12.2 and had the same issue.

Now I am running Openelec 4.0.0 with Gotham and am still seeing the same behaviour and it is possibly more frequent.

The symptom is while I watch a show, the video will freeze.
The audio continues, though it cuts in and out.
I believe if I leave it too long the whole machine locks up and I have to reboot.

If I hit the stop button soon enough (when it freezes), after about 60 seconds, I will return to the menu and can relaunch the video again.

It usually starts freezing the farther I am into a show (say 40 minutes +).
But the xbmc.log I have provided was around 9 minutes into a show.

It happens more frequently to streaming data from the internet, but it is also happening with my contents coming from my MythTV box. This happens whether I am using the PVR feature of XBMC or whether I simply load the .mpg over the network directly.

In this log, the freeze happens around these lines:
18:10:58 T:2865732416 NOTICE: ES: Client from 127.0.0.1 timed out
18:11:22 T:2540673856 WARNING: CRenderManager::WaitForBuffer - timeout waiting for buffer
18:19:06 T:2565851968 WARNING: Previous line repeats 23 times.

xbmc.log

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly welcome.

My searching of previous threads didn't quite have the same symptoms.

TIA,
David

Just a heads up, but you'll want to post about ATV1/OpenELEC issues in the Linux forum rather than the iOS forum. ATV1 never ran iOS, anyways.
