Is this hardware decoded or does it rely on XBMC's software decoder?

Yes, AV200 supports hardware decoding, and the built-in VidOn XBMC is developed based on the official XBMC 12.

The AV200 seems to be better built regarding casing than the poorly built AV100 (loose-fitting LAN-port, easily scratched surface) but what is it good for when not working anymore after a short time and the customer has to pay postage, freight, import tax...
The clearance sale could also make sceptical.
Cannot recommend these devices but check out Vidon.me forum before.

I did some research on their forum, here is what i found.

1. The "dead/bricked/red-light" seem to be the problem now but the developer is fixing it. Some customers also provide helps. For me it looks like they are working together to solve the problem.

2. As for what you said "Criticism is not taken for granted and you are quickly excluded from forum when expressing it." I have to say I don't see it that way. I checked all threads about the dead box problme, the developer are willing to refound or exchange the box. Criricism posts are still there as well as the users who post them. It was other user who suggested stop criticizing and provide acutal useful info to help developer solve the problem. I see no sign of "you are quickly excluded from forum when expressing it"

3. Why vidon.me made this clearance sale looks like a competition if it is just a clearance sale? Why not make it as sample as possible? Unless it is not a clearance sale...

What exactly does this mean?

It means not everyone can buy the box on the day of "May, 25th", because we only provide 600 units at the price of $120.
So if you want to buy it, please reserve it first, then you are qualified to purchase on the purchase day.

VidOn.me guys, if you guys truly have a good product to sell as a competitive price, why the gimmicky promotion/tactics? Just be clear, honest, etc., and rest would fall in your favor anyway. Just a thought.

Dear all,
The first beta version of VidOn Media Center is released for testing on our forum.
VidOn Media Center is a launcher designed and developed all by ourselves. It’s more suitable for a large screen with the Metro style. The functions completed currently are:
Fresh New Homepage: Small box, big world
User Guidance: Quick initial settings
May Apps: Install and manage Android apps

And the functions now in D & R stage are “Media Library Management”, “Multi-device Interaction”, “File Management”, etc. You will be able to use VidOn Media Center to add local resources and resources from LAN, collect media info smartly, browse and play added resources, control the box, and more.

It’s available for download at:
http://forum.vidon.me/index.php?/topic/3...-for-free/

NOTE: It's a private testing version, so you may ask to login.

Your try-out experience (try-out report) can help us perfect the product as soon as possible. And some of your suggestions probably may be adopted in the official version, benefiting all users.

Seriously, are you now trying to promote your own non-XBMC based and presumably closed media center software on this forums?

Is this your response to us asking you to begin respecting the GPL and release all of your source code changes to XBMC?

Just release all your source code changes to GPL software and do so in a timely matter instead, that will stop people complaining.

Again I can't understand why VidOn.Me are allowed to listed as a sponsor on xbmc.org website homepage.
