Slow Standard DEF playback
#1
I have been running XBMC on Arch linux for a long time with no issues.

I just upgraded to Gotham and Standard definition videos now are very slow. i.e. play 1 second then pause then 1 second again. However my HD video works perfectly.

I have an ATI RADEON HD 3800 series card. The problem is the same using the Catalyst or open source and never happened on frodo so I guess this must be an issues with xbmc itself. I have tried lots of different setting to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated.

Works for me. Cannot see your Debug Log
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Your audio is not configured correctly. Set your speakers to 2.0 and retry.

That is interesting. It does fix it but I have 3.1 speakers so I would want it to be set to 3.1 normally. Am I doing something wrong?

AH! I left it to 3.1 but turned off stereo upmix. that seemed to work. Seems an odd thing to make it run slow though.
