UDP IGMP Streams
#1
All,

I am testing using UDP streams on XBMC for Android. I have observed that XBMC for windows can play back UDP streams over wireless ethernet adapter.

I have observed that XBMC for Android does not play back the streams.

Can someone tell me if XBMC for Android should be able to play back these UDP streams?

More Details:

I have found the following additional information. Someone on SO mentions that UDP is not supported on Android and recommends using FFMPEG to obtain UDP support. (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/83139...on-android) and (http://developer.android.com/guide/appen...rmats.html)

I have also observed that there is a section for IGMP Multicast Memberships on the status page for the D-Link wireless router I am using. When I try to view the UDP stream using XBMC for Android the router does not show a subscription under the "IGMP Multicast Memberships" section of the status page. It is as if XBMC for Android is not even attempting to subscribe.

FYI,

I have found that UDP Multicast streams work as expected when using XBMC running on a Nexus 7.

My previous post used a GPad as the test device. For some reason, I am not able to view UDP multi cast streams on the LG GPad.
