Gotham Unable to initialize
#1
Everything seems to be fine in terms of my setup, but I can't seem to get Gotham to start past the splash screen. I get the generic "Unable to Initialize, Exiting". Maybe i just overlooked something or have some sort of other compatibility issue.

Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1 64bit
RAM: 8 GB
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 @ 3.33 GHz
VIDEO: 2 ATI Radeon HD 4800

I believe all of my drivers are up to date to my knowledge.

I am using Gotham 13.1 beta 2, but I have also attempted using the 13.0 stable achieving the same effect.

Here is my Log: PASTEBIN

Any advice would be appreciated.

Looks like a database error.

07:50:49 T:5980 ERROR: SQL: SQL error or missing database
Query: SELECT idVersion FROM version
07:50:49 T:5980 ERROR: exception in CApplication::Initialize()

Perhaps a corrupt database from a past version of XBMC. Backup, delete databases (in userdata folder), and try again.

don't post logs on the forum and it's not a Debug Log (read the link)

other than that it can't create/find your database. so check you setup

My sincere apologies for posting my log on the forum.

Nothing abnormal with the set up, all defaults as I'v not been able to use the program since it got released. the only time I can run the program successfully is when I take out the advancedsettings.xml, but that kind of defeats the object of sharing my database across multiple machines

Here's my log: Pastebin

Hi Martijn,

Thanks for your help on this, would you recommend starting the db again?

OK Martijn,

I've started fresh, I've uninstalled XBMC 13.1 cleaned the registry of all strings. Deleted the ols sql db.

I've now installed 13.2beta and recreated the sql db and re-uploaded the advancedsettings.xml and sources.xml and still it's not working

Log File; XBMC.log

Cheers

Your databases appear empty. Have you re-scanned all your content back in ?
