I think that even xmbc dev team must leave debug log EMPTY if log is not enable.
And actually xmbc logs a lot !

The Team devs have started to lighten the log load by moving the enabling of different logging components to the Verbose options under where Debug Logging is enabled.

I like the idea of this. I'm wondering if it couldn't be independent of the addons, possibly a centralized setting in the skin where one could select which (or all) addons from the enabled addons should be in the debug log. You already have to go to settings to turn debug on. This would also help with poorly written third-party addons which puke their guts into the logs by being able to disable them. Without a function like this, the logs will still be full of other entries from third party addons, many of which are legitimate, but for one reason or another are not in the xbmc.org repo.
