Video Codec and Bulk Renamer
#1
Sorry if this has already been asked. I searched through the forum but could not find an answer to the following.

Is it possible for EMM's Bulk Renamer to include the video codec in the file name?

I'm trying to clean up my movie database and integrate a common naming structure. I was hoping to use the Bulk Renamer for this but I can not seem to get what I'm looking for.

I have already put each movie is in it's own folder with the following name scheme:
$T [$Y] so I get Shrek (2001), for example.

I would now like each file to be named as follows:
Movie Title (Year).Resolution.Source.Video Codec.Audio Codec.file extension
Examples:
Shrek (2001).720p.BluRay.x264.AAC.mp4
Angels With Dirty Faces (1938).480p.DVD.DivX.MP3.avi

I can use this file pattern: $T ($Y).$R.$S.$A, but I can't seem to find a switch for the video codec (x264, DivX, XviD, etc.). Is this possible through EMM? Did I miss a setting somewhere? Thanks in advance

Not sure about EMM but you can certainly do it with FileBot.

If I use another program won't I have to rescan/rescrape with EMM all over again? Well if I get too OCD about it, I just might look into Filebot. Might wait for 1.4 first. Thanks for the tip.

I have added/changed this for next beta release:

$A - Audio Channels (now without audio codec)
$H - Video Codec (like mpeg2, xvid, divx)
$J - Audio Codec

Hi Dan,

you haven't forgotten the multiview count to add "3D" in the filename.
This will be awesome in XBMC to show special 3D artwork and to use external 3D player!

Confused I have added this, but it's no usefull for XBMC. Check this: Link

The problem is, MediaInfo.dll can't read the new mvk 3D header informations.
Whe need an new version (not released yet) or another solution for proper XBMC 3D filenaming.

Good new: MediaInfo has MultiView_Layout informations :-)

I'm working on new renamer tags for proper XBMC solution.
Also we can add <stereomode> tag to nfo.
