I obviously was missing the point, because you already did it this way.
Apparently the white theme doesn't overwrite anything, just adds some files, but is removed during an update anyway.
Is it standard behavior for xbmc/kodi to remove files not present in the update?

In the original Aeon Nox 5 skin there's an option to choose a red or orange theme.
Would'nt it be more obvious to create the white theme in the same way the orange and red theme are created?
This way you probably don't have to overwrite the original files.
Maybe only the ones that let you choose the available themes.
That way we only need to replace those few files when the skin is updated...

Yeah I am afraid so, looks like it completly removes then adds the skin folder durring update.

Hmmm i'm running openelec kodi beta5 on a cubox i4 pro i copied the files into the right folder but nothing happend

hey guys quick question , i am wanting to do a pink floyd themed build on aeon nox, i need help with font and maybe brick wall theme on the main info line, i have never done any font work on a skin.....is this do-able for someone that can follow directions or am i out of my league and should see if i can make a donation for someone that is willing to give it a go

The font work should be relatively straight forward however the bricked background might prove more difficult if you have little photoshop skills.
