Seemingly introduced with 13.1 RC1, and confirmed on OSX and Linux XBMC installs with myth 0.27.1

Symptoms:

Live TV freezes, displays buffering message for ~15 seconds, then falls back to channel list.
Reselecting channel lets tv play for ~6 more minutes, then cycle repeats.

From untrained eye, maybe something to do with the updating of recordings?

Could be your network that goes to sleep, or it's a bug in the Mythtv addon.

it's something in the mythtv addon. I upgraded MythTV from 0.27 to 0.27.1 whilst keeping xbmc at version 13.1 beta2, and livetv was fine. It was only when I went to the Xbmc 13.1 RC1 that it went titsup.

ironically mine is doing the exact same thing! I was thinking I changed something, so I'm glad it's not only me. Odd thing is I watched NHL Game earlier the entire thing, then around 8PM PST I started having this issue.

You said on your OP that this was introduced with 13.1 RC1 but your log file shows you on 13.0.

Did this start with some updates from mythtv backend? I noticed they pushed a bunch of updates as well, and I'm wondering if that was the cause.

mythtv fixed this issue.

It was with their backend.

Run update manager on the backend and the fix is built in.

Cheers for the info, I noticed this last night (oddly only on one channel) and thought it may have to do with the new version of the addon by janbar that I've been using. Will upgrade mythtv tonight.
