Hi All,
The simpliest would be: having Audio Device 1 (e.g. HDMI) used for Movies playback and Audio Device 2 (e.g. Optical Output with WASAPI) for playing Music. Actually, to my knowledge, it is possible to select just one Audio Device that will be used for all types of playback. This seems, at least from my perspective, a limitation of XBMC.
I went through the forum to find a solution to this and it seems that there is no a common and stable fix: set different profiles and map a remote button (not trasparent to the user at all...), launch different scripts when selecting Movies or Music (actually no solution for Gotham...), etc.
I hope you can accept this feature for the next XBMC release! Thanks for your great effort!
