i have been using xbmc v12.3 on my labtop with a vantec usb external sound card. from the sound card i use the optical out to my surround sound receiver and hdmi output on my labtop to my tv. i installed xbmc v13 and could not get the surround sound to pass through to the receiver correctly. it would only pass through the sound as 2.1 sound not 5.1 as the audio track calls for. I tried every single setting i could with no luck, it would only pass through the 5.1 audio as 2.1. i reinstalled xbmc v12.3 and now it works fine. has anyone had a similar problem with a known fix. any help would be great. i would love to update to version 13 but if i cant get the 5.1 to work i am stuck with 12.3.
