Looking to Downsize My XBMC Setup
#1
Hey guys how's it going good I hope, anyways I am looking to downsize my XBMC setup from my beast PC to something small and quiet. My only requirements is I need the new set-up to be low cost, small, quiet, run windows and play up-to 1080p video. So far I have been looking into NUCs and Brix which look ideal for what I need but want to get the best configuration/bang for buck and all the different SKUs aren't helping.

So far this is the configuration I have come up with and coming to cost of £198.82 but want to know if this set-up will do what I need it to do or is there a better config at this price point. So let me know what you guys think and any help would be most appreciated thanks boys.

Gigabyte Brix GB-XM14-1037
Crucial 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 SODIMM
Kingston 60GB mSATA

Don't use Windows ;D but the NUC should do the trick. Have you looked at http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=187433

I don't have a damned clue what all those numbers are in your first post and I cannot be bothered googling it, nor should anyone have to. Tell us

CPU
GPU
Quantity of RAM

To be fair, probably any x86 hardware you can buy these days will do 1080p, but let us know what you are thinking of buying and you should get some informed (and uninformed) opinions Smile
If I have helped you or increased your knowledge, click the 'thumbs up' button to give thanks :) (People with less than 20 posts won't see the "thumbs up" button.)
