Maybe posting an error log would be a starting place for people to help you. http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Log_file
One other detail: this addon may not work if you are in a geo-blocked country. I'm pretty sure it works in US, Germany and France now. I'd be interested to hear if it works elsewhere.

Now working for me in CanadaBig Grin

From Czech Republic, no chance to get it working (due to geo localization limitation).

Hey, I was wondering If you could maybe add a quality / bitrate option like you did to the snagfilms addon. It seems popcornflix servers do not have enough bandwidth for people wanting to play their movies in 480p on my side of the american continnent (I'm in Argentina). I've tryed playing some flicks from there site and it goes very quickly from something good looking wich I guess is 480p to something that looks like a very low quality 240p, with just as good sounding audio as the 480p counterpart. On XBMC it starts playing 480p but it buffers once every 40 seconds or so... Sad

I also notice the movie list inside each genre seems to list both categories together (Most Popular and A-Z), one after the other. I think it would be nice to differienciate one from the other.

Try version 1.0.6 from my git - https://github.com/learningit/plugin.video.popcornflix
I added a bunch of addon bitrate settings from 150kbps to 1200kbps (defaults to 1200kbps, same as before)

The video list that I get for the genres is what is returned by the api, don't have control (that I know of) over what the order or content is. So I can't do much for that request.

Let me know if it works for you.

It works! I set it to 880kbs and tested something for 5 minutes and no more buffering problems Big Grin The only thing is that instead of 360p, it's also 240p haha, but oh well, I'll live with that untill it works better in 1200kbps.

Too bad about the other thing, but I'll learn to live with it. Wink

I'm not sure what happened, but It does not retrieve the 480p stream anymore when set al 1200k bitrate. I've tryed removing and adding againg, also fully uninstalling XBMC and adding the addon again to no avail.Huh If i go back to 1.0.5, it starts the 480p stream.

Updated for a change in bitrates. 1200K is slightly faster. I assume that you mean that it wasn't playing in the resolution you expected, as opposed to no stream was playing.

You can download version 1.0.7 at https://github.com/learningit/plugin.video.popcornflix/

Let me know how it works for you. When stable, I will request to have it pulled into the xbmc.org repo.

Yes, somehow it was playing 240p, when 1200k is supposed to be 480p. I've checked and it seems to be ok now Wink. I'll give it a better look and report back. Thx!

Hi,

I'm having no luck using the add-on from the Netherlands.
Does that mean we're geo-blocked over here?

The error message on screen is: No videos for playback found

Here's a link to my log file: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=7K4BqaC0

Kind regards from AmsterdamTongue

The easiest way to know the answer to your questions is: are you able to access the website and play videos in your browser?

http://www.popcornflix.com/

Does it re-direct to another (perhaps local) website?

UPDATE: I can play the video url that is in your log. The addon is resolving the video url correctly, but it looks like there is an error when the player is trying to open it according to your log. I have no problem playing the same url. I'm not sure why you are unable to open video file. The addon does work in others parts of Europe such as Germany and Spain.
