Small video window at home.
#1
Hi,

I want to display a rtsp video stream in small video window overlayed on Home or other non-video page by using python script which may triggered by JSON-RPC. That video would be stream from door cam or CCTV support only RTSP.

I tried several ways but alway it was full screen video.

Any advice or sample script will be highly appreciated.

thanks

Hi da-anda,
First, Thanks for reply.

I already did overlay for http://~~ image.jpg in the form of motion jpeg. It worked well in overlayed small box on my Home Screen.
But What asked in this post was not for image.jpg but RTSP video stream. Actually, I think it doesn't matter rtsp stream or video file. Just video.

And I though that image and video is different. Your kind link seems to be just for overlaying the image for http because most CCTV/Door cam provide motion jpeg over http. Is it same for video also?

Let me make simple the question again. How can I make PIP-like small real "video" window which would over-layed on Home screen or Music page?

thanks

I'm not a dev, nor a python guy, but in XBMC there can only be one player at a time, so you won't be able to play a video overlay while music is playing in the background - at least not with using XBMCs internal players. If nothing is playing it might work. But as said - I'm not really qualified to answer.

Thanks for your right point out.

And Yes. I should correct my question like ..What I wanted is for the case of player idle state : )

If there is a functionality that current video window could be resized into smaller video window, I could utilizes it.
NO way to resize video during or NO way to launch video with small window size overlayed on home?

In Skinning Manual in XBMC WiKi, there is a explanation of video control which is xml defining video control size(w,h) and location(posx, posy).
So I need to know how to add this video control dynamically on current window(non-video, non-music) and make video on it by using script.

thanks
